Thank you, Carolyn for the wonderful job you did on my move. Everything went very well. You even unknowingly gave me some better ideas for places to keep things. I haven’t found it to be as difficult living in a smaller place as I had thought.
Downsizing and moving can be such a difficult time for a senior and their family.
I experienced this when I moved my own mom out of a family home where she’d lived 30 years, and I see it in my work as a Downsizing Diva. It’s an emotional process.
The last thing someone needs to worry about are the practical details, such as what you’re taking with you, where to donate items for re-use, or how to organize your new space.
Before becoming a Downsizing Diva, I worked alongside the previous franchise owner to learn the ropes. That’s when I realized that downsizing assistance for seniors would be a perfect fit.
I’d spent my career in advertising and marketing, including work at a large retirement company. Managing projects, being prepared, getting things done, and keeping everyone happy along the way is what I do best. I’m just one of those task orientated people who likes finishing things!
There’s also so much satisfaction working with seniors. When the move is complete, the pictures hung on the walls, and everything is in its place, that’s when I see smiles on people’s faces.

Downsizing Divas was the perfect fit for my mother’s move from an 1860 sq ft condominium to an 860 sq ft seniors home. From our first meeting to the last unpacked box, the support was wonderful. Not only does the family need practical advice at this time, they also require the utmost patience and sensitivity to the symbolism and significance of the new chapter ahead for all family members.
