In 2001, Downsizing Diva was founded by Gail Shields and Karen Shinn, two entrepreneurs who recognized a growing need for helping older adults downsize and manage their moves with grace, dignity and humour!

The driving force behind the growth and recognition of the Downsizing Diva brand is strong corporate values, which translate into business success. Your life. Your move. is more than a slogan; for the Divas, it’s a core value that transcends everything they do.

As Senior + Specialty Move Managers, Downsizing Diva has TWO important goals. The first is to make it easier for older adults to prepare for a move from/to a family home, condo, retirement residence or care community. The second is to do our work with care, compassion, communication and sometimes, comedy.

Today there are 15 Downsizing Diva franchises in Ontario and room for additional franchises in Ontario and across Canada to meet the growing need. All Divas share the same work ethic - a strong sense of service, compassion, dedication to their work, and above all, they all absolutely love working with older adults.
